Prayer Requests August 2010

  • I appreciate your prayers as I begin my second term as a missionary at Tenwek. Please pray that I will stay close to Jesus, that I will show His love and compassion to my patients, and that I will have wisdom and ability needed in each surgery.
  • Please pray for our General Surgery Residency Training Program. We will soon be accepting applications for next year. Pray that God will send the right men and women for this training program.
  • Please pray for the building and expansion projects that are underway at Tenwek - that appropriate funding will be raised and that we will stay true to our mission of excellence in Christ-centered, compassionate healthcare, spiritual ministry, and training for service.
  • Please pray for my family in the USA and Indonesia.

I moved to Kenya in January 2007 to serve as a missionary surgeon at Tenwek Hospital. Tenwek is a busy 300 bed hospital in Kenya’s Rift Valley that serves as a surgery referral center for more than 8.5 million people. Tenwek’s motto is “We Treat, Jesus Heals” and I have seen this lived out over and over. I love being able to care for patients in a medical center committed to excellence in Christ-centered, compassionate healthcare, spiritual ministry, and training for service. Tenwek now trains Kenyan interns, Family Medicine residents and Surgery Residents. Thank you for your interest in this ministry.
